Well another week has gotten away from me again. Mind you this update has been a work in progress for 2 days now, so don’t mind the time stamp on the post. It is currently Friday. I made the mistake of putting the LEGO game on my iPad when we were in the PICU forContinue reading “Round 3…the Final Induction Round”

The Harvest Continues
Well we sadly have not made it home yet. Instead, we are here for our 3rd day of WBC harvesting. I had it in my head that we were going to get enough on the 1st round, as a couple doctors had eluded to, and be able to go home the later part of Thursday.Continue reading “The Harvest Continues”
The Harvest is on Schedule
Cade is doing much better. His mucositis this go around remained much milder than the last time and they never ended up starting him on IV nutrition. We were not discharged to the RMH yesterday only because of the plan for the WBC harvest. Logistically it just made sense to streamline things better by keepingContinue reading “The Harvest is on Schedule”
Mucositis Wins Again
Sadly Cade was readmitted only a few hours after my last post. Chris and Rylan got to the RMH and Cade perked up when he saw Ry, as I hoped he would, but it only lasted a few minutes. That’s when I knew there was no way he was going to make it unti FridayContinue reading “Mucositis Wins Again”
Round 2 is Almost Done
Well we have almost made it through round 2. I had such good intentions of posting another update since our initial one last week, but things have been so busy. Every time I thought I’d have time to add an update, something always happened and it never worked out. The morning after the last update,Continue reading “Round 2 is Almost Done”
Round 2 Begins
Yesterday we packed up the car and left the house around 11:30 to head back to Children’s of Milwaukee for Cade to begin round 2 of chemotherapy. My drive up was peaceful. As I pulled out of the neighborhood, with my mom following behind me to help me out, I saw a bird quickly flyContinue reading “Round 2 Begins”
What a Wonderful Weekend
Having Cade home this weekend was amazing for all of us. The first day was a bit nerve racking as I felt like he was barley peeing, not eating or drinking much, and still throwing up on top of it all. It was stressing me out. I kept saying to him, as I’d try toContinue reading “What a Wonderful Weekend”
We are HOME!
Yesterday was a great day. I got to come home to spend the day with Rylan. I came home Tuesday night and was going to get up and go back Thursday for Chris to come back and go to work. To my absolute surprise, Chris called me yesterday morning saying that there is talk ofContinue reading “We are HOME!”
Back so Soon
Cade and I have enjoyed our last couple days at the Ronald McDonald House. Tuesday night we settled in and he played a little. Wednesday my sister came up and spent a good part of the day with us. We took a quick field trip to a near by Starbucks to grab coffee and thenContinue reading “Back so Soon”
The Rest of Our 1st Cycle
Well the time has certainly gotten away from me. It has been busy. Cade received the last drug of his cycle, Methotrexate, on Thursday. He did well with it overall. We haven’t seen any mouth sores at this point, so prayers that he maybe won’t get any this time around 🙏🏼 This particular drug isContinue reading “The Rest of Our 1st Cycle”
