My name is Candace.

On the night of June 13th, 2018 I received the news that no parent ever wants to hear. My precious 2 year old, who had been experiencing vomiting episodes for the previous 1-2 weeks, was being diagnosed with a tumor. A type of brain tumor called Medulloblastoma. Brain cancer. It was terrifying, but we NEVER GAVE UP. Not one day. No matter what awful circumstances were thrown our way, the relapse inside of a relapse. The most rare, unfathomable things. I held on to my faith and stayed as strong as I possibly could for my baby. After two years of fighting, we had to say goodbye to our sweet warrior Cade. Our amazing little boy made his journey up to heaven on April 29, 2020 at 5:40pm.  It is the hardest thing we as a family have ever had to do. The heartache is indescribable. I chose to share my journey from the encouragement of many in hope of helping others who may one day find themselves in a similar situation. A similar nightmare, looking for answers. Searching for hope.
