Well the cough that began Saturday ended up being yet another virus. Poor Cade cannot seem to catch a break, it has literally been one thing after another on top of another since Thanksgiving. Today was supposed to be his MRI, however his respiratory status wasn’t safe and his team of doctors was not safe putting him under general anesthesia today and risking his health more. I called them this morning and updated them on what had been going on over the weekend. He seemed better yesterday, but by late afternoon he seemed worse again. Higher than normal respiratory status, exhausted of energy, coughing, and he would either sound crackly with his exhales or he would make a light grunting noise like an infant does when in respiratory distress. They had us come in anyways, in hopes that we could possibly still do the MRI. They repeated the chest X-ray and had us go up to Day Hospital for them to see and assess him. His oxygen saturation’s were good, which was a plus. He was 97-99%. The home finger sat monitor I have was showing him to be 92-95% for the most part over the weekend. So that was comforting that he was actually higher and normal. His chest X-ray didn’t show pneumonia, which was good because we were concerned it was back. But it did show basically just another virus. This poor buddy has had periodic stents of 3-4 days of feeling good and being back to his happy, giggly, normal Cade self and then he’s back to coughing and being sick again. Thankfully our current illness is nothing he needed to go on a 4th course of antibiotics for…the downfall of that is we just sit and wait it out. Hope that it’s a virus that will pass quickly. I wanted to post a quick update so those of you waiting to hear the news and update weren’t worried by the silence. We are re-scheduled for the MRI next Tuesday 1/21 and praying he will be healthy by then and it will not have to be postponed any further. That day is also Chris’ birthday….so it has to be a good day. An MRI with good results 😊 ❤️ 🙏🏼
