I have already posted this on my Facebook page as well, so of you’ve already seen it there, this is the exact same post. But I wanted to post it here too as I know there are many who read these posts and may not be part of Facebook.
This is a day of fasting and prayer request for Cade that I am sharing from my Aunt Carolyn Trantham Buquet in Texas. She reached out to me wanting to do this and asking how I felt about it. I am all for it and therefore sharing it with anyone it will reach. If you feel it in your heart, please join us on Friday. Let’s send even more power of prayer up to the heavens for complete healing and elimination of Cade’s cancer. 🙏🏼💛♥️
Hello Team Cade,
My name is Carolyn. My husband Rich and I are Uncle and Aunt to Candace. She has allowed me to address you all. I’m calling for those who are willing to be a part of a day of fasting and prayer dedicated completely to Cade. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have literally hundreds of people around the country all centered on raising Cade to the throne of God for 24 hours? Candace has selected Friday, June 7 as the day.
There are many ways to fast. The two of us will be fasting all food, consuming only water, but certainly there are those of you for whom a complete fast would be impossible due to medical needs. It is up to you how you might want to participate. Perhaps fasting sugar, alcohol, tv, phone, or the like.
I won’t get all theological on you. But obviously many of us are frustrated with God on Cade’s behalf. There are more questions than answers. But spending our energies on questioning God does Cade no good. The point of fasting is to humble ourselves before the Lord and put our trust in Him, recognizing that He is God and we are not. Whenever people fast together, there seems to be an extra oomph to our prayers.
Here are some Bible verses that might be useful to you as we share in this focused fast together.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6
God is our refuge and strength, An ever present help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6
